This Blog Will Make You a Better Programmer

It’s official. This very blog right here will make you a better programmer.

While I was out on vacation, enjoying life away from computers and slurping Aperol Spritz in the sun with my wife, YouTube creator bashbunni published a video of some of her favourite coding blogs. I noticed an uptick in this website’s traffic the other day and went spelunking to figure out where they were coming from.

I’ve long suspected that one day I’m going to be mentioned in the same breath with Mitchell Hashimoto and I’m stoked that we finally got that out of the way.

I’m smitten to get called out for being playful. I strongly believe that our industry needs more fun, joy and playfulness and it feels good that my website is being recognized as a tiny beacon of cheerfulness in a sea of cynicism and questionable behaviors that are haunting our industry.

Check out the video and check out the other blogs that bashbunni calls out - they’re even cooler than this one.

Oh wait, there’s new RSS feeds, too!

This website’s got a mix of technical and personal content. The most successful content (I see all you tmux nerds out there!) is the technical and programming-related stuff I’m writing, but I do enjoy writing personal life updates every now and then.

To make it easier for folks out there to follow the content they care for, I’ve created additional RSS feeds so that you can subscribe to the technical or the personal content only. No judgement. If you’re here for the geeky command-line and programming stuff that’s cool. Go and subscribe to the tech feed. If you care about Ham the human being with hobbies and thoughts and emotions that go beyond wrangling software, subscribe to the personal feed.

You can find all the RSS feeds on the new Feeds page. Have fun!
