Gloomy Season

I struggle with long northern German winters.

Once the Christmas holidays are over and we trade coziness and calm for gloomy January weather and the frenzy of a new fiscal year at work, I’m hit by a slump sooner or later.

That’s where I am right now. The weather has been drab and gloomy for a few weeks now. Work is picking up pace relentlessly. I’m cold all day and feel like I haven’t seen the sun in ages. I need a flash light to walk the dog in the morning and in the evening (at least I’m grateful that I get an opportunity to go out multiple times a day).

I know it will get better soon. I know the days are getting longer. There are better times ahead. But for now it’s gloomy season.
